This page describes what information is collected from you, how it’s used, and my commitment to ensuring your information and privacy are protected. Any and all information you choose to share with WilsonLo.ca will be used by the campaign accordance to the privacy policy below.
By choosing to enter your information to any of WilsonLo.ca’s webforms, you consent to that information being used by the Wilson Lo campaign for the purpose stated on the contact form. Each webform displays the type of information it collects in every entry field, such as your name, email, address, and more.
All information is collected through manual entry by the user. There is no automatic information collection used by this website (we don’t have that skillset). Your information will be used by the campaign only, will not be shared with a third party, and will be discarded when it is no longer needed by the campaign.
Users who subscribed for the campaign newsletter and no longer wish to receive updates may unsubscribe using the link located at the end of each newsletter.
WordPress, WilsonLo.ca’s host, may collect non-identifying information about your visit for analytical purposes. Read WordPress’s privacy policy here↗.
All donors must provide their full name and email address in the donation form on the donation page in order for a receipt to be issued. Donations of 100$ or greater must include a home address in the comment field for the purposes of record-keeping satisfying the Municipal Elections Act↗. Information provided by the donor will never be used outside the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act.
Personal information collected in the donation form is obtained under the authority of sections 88.25 and 95 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Under section 88 of the Municipal Elections Act (and despite anything in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act↗), documents and materials filed with or prepared by the City Clerk or any other election official under the Municipal Elections Act are public records and, until their destruction, may be inspected by any person at the Clerk’s office at a time when the office is open. Campaign financial statements shall also be made available by the Clerk in an electronic format free of charge upon request.
Credit card information you choose to enter in the donation module is managed securely through Stripe↗. Payment information entered via the Stripe module is not accessible to anybody on the Wilson Lo campaign (including the candidate). Address information is made available to the campaign for the purposes of issuing contribution rebate receipts. Campaign contributions are also accepted via e-transfer.
WilsonLo.ca has an SSL certificate through its host, WordPress. Information collected through this website is securely transferred to and stored in an email exchange server or in a cloud-based folder. Users who prefer to a different method of sharing their information may do so by emailing info@WilsonLo.ca.
WilsonLo.ca contains links to other websites operated by third parties, outside of the control of the Wilson Lo campaign. We are not responsible for information you may choose to provide to any third-party on their websites, as this privacy policy applies to WilsonLo.ca only. Please consider familiarising yourself with the privacy policies of third-party websites. All links to third-party websites are identified with a northeast arrow (↗).
This privacy policy may be adjusted without notice from time to time, although most changes are expected to be minor in scope, like wording or formatting. While users are encouraged to check this page for changes to the privacy policy, by continuing to use WilsonLo.ca, users are consenting to any changes. The campaign may notify of any major changes through social media or newsletter.
