City Councillor, Ward 24 – Barrhaven East

Re-elect

Wilson Lo

Hi, I'm Wilson

Thank you for the privilege of serving and representing you on City Council the last four years. I am hoping to earn your trust and support again this autumn.

Over the last four years, I’ve experienced and witnessed how policies rooted in ideology have made our lives more difficult, our City more administratively burdensome, and our efforts to help our community more expensive. Municipal government is supposed to be the most practical level of government, focusing on roads, garbage, transit, parks, pipes, and more, but the City had saddled itself and its residents with layers of administration to find problems for its solutions.

From fighting sprung structures to resolving concerns at your street corner, from voting against Lansdowne 2.0 to advocating for appropriately-sized  (and adequately-powered) sidewalk plows, I have a proven record of solutions-oriented action, advocacy, and information sharing for our community. Count on me to be the practical and responsive leader for Barrhaven East, to serve with integrity, to fight for what’s important to you, and to move our community forward. I am your voice at City Hall.

Barrhaven East is my home, too. My wife and I welcomed our son last year, and we plan to raise and grow our young family in the community we love, so our future and how we shape that together is personal.

Platform

Several items important to the growth and sustainability of Barrhaven East were advanced over the last four years, including the new police station, traffic calming, road resurfacing, and tree planting.

With Council’s support, I started the process towards widening Prince of Wales Drive north of Fallowfield and towards creating at least two fenced dog parks in the ward. I also began productive discussions with the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and other partners to bring a community health hub to Barrhaven, as well as early discussions with an external partner potentially for a major sports park and facility near Woodroffe/Longfields.

That important work must continue, and I will continue to advance our community’s interests and needs in transportation, community safety, transit, development, and more.
